What did the volunteers learn from sifting through fresh rubbish?

Sorting the fresh waste was a step too far for some. Christine was physically sick; which just goes to show that it's up to everyone to do their bit and not expect others to sort through their mess for recycling. Rubbish is almost impossible to recycle in this state.

It was hard work. They recovered very little of it. The take-home message was that it’s time for all of us to segregate our own rubbish at home. Don’t put it in a black sack and consign it to landfill. And that’s the whole point of Dumped. It’s about time we started to look at our rubbish in a totally different way. Instead of thinking of it as a useless by-product, let’s see it as a resource. How can we make it useful again?
