The Storm Clouds are Gathering...

News: Big storms and big rowsTen very different people, all with strong opinions, living together in cramped conditions amongst 1000 tonnes of rubbish, never really feeling clean, and with no privacy. There was no escape, they were missing home and surviving amongst the rubbish was beginning to take its toll.

Naturally, there had been plenty of tension. But now, two weeks in, everything came to a head and a row broke out that threatened to rip the group apart and endanger the entire project.

Jermaine and Selena clash big time

The main protagonists were footballer Jermaine and fitness instructor Selena, two people at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to green views. Their disagreements had been brewing for quite a while. Selena didn't like the fact that Jermaine was unapologetically un-green, and fully admitted that the he was here for a slice of the reward money. In return, Selena's ultra-green views and zealous embrace of the ethos behind the project had rubbed Jermaine up the wrong way.

It had been a bad day. Selena and Jermaine first clashed after Selena complained to Jermaine about leaving the shower muddy, to which Jermaine reacted angrily. Over dinner the argument flared again and with Jermaine getting more heated, Jarvis stepped in, trying to point out to Jermaine that Selena had initially just asked him politely to clear up the food he had spilt. But this just wound Jermaine up more: 'I don't need nobody telling me about I need to clean up when I've not even finished my dinner. If you don't like that Jarvis yeah, I'm sorry bruv, I'm not gonna stand here and tell you what you wanna hear.'

Will Jermaine stay?

A very nasty atmosphere had settled over the camp, with some members of the group unhappy and feeling intimidated. Later that night, as another downpour began, the producers gathered the group to try and dispel the atmosphere. A frank discussion was held with every member of the group getting a chance to have their say.

The general feeling was that, even though he may not have realised how intimidating he had been, Jermaine's behaviour had been unacceptable. 'If you genuinely do not feel comfortable with me being here then I'll go,' Jermaine offered. His future on the dump was in the other's hands. But after talking long into the night, everyone felt he deserved a second chance.
