Episode 4: Dee Dee and Melissa
Dee Dee and Berny Allemon are little people with big hearts and believe that life should be fun and that you should never take yourself seriously and that is exactly how they raise their kids.
Melissa Johnson is very serious about raising her family to be champions. She is a national figure competitor who believes you can never be perfect enough. She believes that her children will have to work hard in later life so she should prepare them for it as children.
What will happen when perfection obsessed Melissa swaps her busy schedule, and when laid back Dee Dee has to stop her thinking that average is good enough and strive for perfection like the rest of her new family?
Episode 3: Lori and Tracy
Californians Lori Grimes (46) and her husband Doug (47) are bringing up their teenage children Miles and Ragan to be impeccable family members and corporate citizens.
Describing herself as strict but loving, school and church play choreographer and stay-at-home mum Lori orchestrates her clan with an iron fist.
Doug, a former military man, also expects the utmost precision and conservative moral values: so much so that their daughter Ragan (13) studies traditional Irish dancing because the family believes it is the least "suggestive" style.
Her brother Miles (16) has no time to spare with piano and banjo practice, studying, chores and family sing-alongs.
Tracy West (42) from South Carolina has a far more casual parenting style and prides herself on her open-mindedness: it's reflected in the actions and perspectives of her husband Michael (52) and children Alaina (20), Alex (18) and Katie (11).
The two older children frequently break their midnight curfews and face no consequences.
Chores aren't done, no topic of discussion is out of bounds, and traditional family time is non-existent. Tracy is otherwise occupied with her job at a radio station and her obsession with the online horror-literature world.
Her husband Michael does most of the cleaning and all of the cooking, sometimes making up to four separate dinners for the family that they don't eat together. Michael believes the happiness of his wife and children are paramount.
How does Lori cope with living in an unstructured and chaotic environment, where the West kids rule the roost? And how does Tracy manage in a home where all family activities are planned months in advance in a calendar they call the "Family Brain"?
Episode 2: Anna and Jamie
In this episode, a sideshow-performing mother swaps places with a fashion conscious ex-Miss Teen.
The Kinisons are a family of sideshow performers. Mum Anna (26) walks on glass, lies on a bed of nails and juggles knives, while husband Jeremy breathes fire and lifts weights with his eyelids.
Their kids have both been brought up around the show and daughter Cataya can't wait to join the show full time.
Despite appearances, the Kinisons run a traditional household. Both children do well at school and the Kinisons are very strict about their children's homework.
Mum Anna does all the cooking and cleaning and sees it as her job to have a hot meal on the table for her husband when he gets home from work. She loves to take care of people, and when Jeremy has his friends over Anna will cook and clean for them too.
Anna travels to the luxurious New Jersey home of Jamie (28) and Charles (31) Czerniawski.
To Jamie and Charles, appearances are everything. Jamie never goes out without make-up and matching shoes and bag, and the same goes for daughter Alex (8).
Charles spends 45 minutes in the shower and can take up to two hours to get ready before a night out. Son Mikey (6) has a cupboard full of hair products and even wears cologne when he goes out. Alex is the captain of her cheerleading squad and Mikey wins wrestling and football trophies.
What will happen when these two swap?
Episode 1: Patty and Lauren
Patty and Joe Schachtner, both 45-years-old, are high-school sweethearts who enjoy the simple life in their small-town Wisconsi, at home with their children, Travis (25), Pattie Jo (22), Toby (19), Dylan (17) and Gunnar (14).
The male-dominated household is more like a frat house than a home.
That's fine with rough-and-tumble Patty, who loves spending her time away from her volunteer EMT position with her family. They hunt, fish, wrestle and hang out together.
It's a girls' world for Lauren Martincak (46), who runs a successful modeling agency and enjoys her city's glittering VIP social scene.
Not only does she indulge her two little girls, Sammi Jack (10) and Danni Jo (7), with designer clothes and gifts, but she's proud that they want to be just like her. She refers to them as her "mini-me's."
Lauren is grooming 10-year-old Sammi Jack to be "the next big thing in America" by promoting her daughter's very own girl band. Husband Danny (39) escapes their ultra-girly home to wake board and play hockey with his buddies.
