Tanya
Q: Why did you want to be on Wife Swap?
A: I saw the show advertised in Australia; they were looking for participants. I thought it would be fun to do and I think we're a really funny family so I applied. Once we were accepted, I got more and more nervous and Tony got more and more excited about it!
Q: What parts of the swap did you enjoy?
A: I really loved the two girls – they were so sweet and polite; I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. I also loved coming home – being in the swap really made me realise how much I love my own family.
Q: What parts of the swap did you find hardest?
A: When I read Elissa's manual I got really worried – it didn't sound like a house I could ever feel comfortable in. As it turned out, the family were lovely – the kids especially. But, I did find myself bored. I'm used to having kids and animals around the house all the time.
Q: How did your family cope with the swap?
A: They enjoyed it for a while – for the first few days – but they wanted to swap back after that!
Q: Do you relate to your family differently?
A: Not really, no.
Q: Has it changed you at all?
A: It's made me look at what I have more and has confirmed what I already knew – that I'm a very lucky person and have a great family. I think you assume that everyone's life is the same, but it's not – I'm very lucky.
Q: Would you do it again?
A: Only if I could swap with a different family. I enjoyed the swap, but it wasn't what I was hoping for.

Q: Why did you want to be on Wife Swap?
A: My husband saw the advert in the local paper and mentioned it. I've always loved anything that breaks up the standard routine, and when I saw it was in Australia I was even more excited!
Q: What parts of the swap did you enjoy?
A: Believe it or not I really loved feeding the sheep! I'd never done it before and Tony was really impressed with how quickly I picked it up – in fact I'd love to go to a sheep-shearing course!
Overall, I enjoyed the whole experience. It wasn't easy, but I never expected it to be. I loved the little kids – I love looking after babies.
Q: What parts of the swap did you find hardest?
A: The dogs poo-ing everywhere in the house – and the fact that the family seemed to think that it's perfectly normal – was really hard for me to accept and understand. They were in the beds, under the quilts, in the baby's play-pen and I didn't like it. I could understand if it was a farm-house, but it was a nice house in a nice suburban street.
I felt that Tony put the dogs first and the kids came after. The kids would also be in front of the TV for hours on end, which I couldn't get used to. I also found it hard that Tanya and Tony had no friends and no social life – I'm used to seeing people a lot.
Q: Has it changed you at all?
A: Not really. I think Stephen wanted me to change and be more like Tanya! But, it's taken me a lot of hard work to become successful in my business and I'm working to provide the best future I can for my girls so I feel it is worth it.
Q: Would you do it again?
A: Absolutely – it was a great adventure and I always like a break from routine. I loved the animals and the kids on my swap and always like to experience different cultures so I'd jump at the chance to do it again!
