Before filming starts, each wife writes a manual explaining how their house is run. Below are highlights from Becky's manual.

HOUSEHOLD CHORES

How often do you clean your home?
As far as I'm concerned, you can't keep a house clean with three young kids – I've got better things to do with my time. We have a big clean-up twice a year.

Who does the general cleaning around the house?
I vacuum during the day. Jason works during the week so will do a big clean on his day off.

WHO DOES THE FOLLOWING, AND HOW OFTEN?

Dusting?
Jason does the dusting. The only things we dust are the TV screen and the computer monitor – once a week.

Tidying?
Jason does this on his day off.

Ironing?
I'd only iron clothes if we're going somewhere special – a funeral or wedding. We usually wear clothes straight out of the drier.

Cleaning the bathroom?
Cleaning the bogs is Jason's job and he does it three times a week. I give the bath a squirt with cleaner and wash it with the shower-head – usually on a Wednesday.

Clothes-washing?
We do four loads a day and we share who puts it on. Bedding is washed every week or two – either of us will do it.

Cleaning the kitchen?
Jason does this on his day off. He mops the floor, wipes the surfaces and cleans the cooker.

Washing-up?
We split the washing-up three ways between Jason, Tyler and me. Jason is so fussy about it that he inspects the washing-up if Tyler or I have done it because he doesn't think we do it well enough. That's usually enough to spark a row.

Cleaning the car?
We wash it in the car wash.

Gardening?
Jason does this. I absolutely hate gardening so won't do it.

DIY and decorating?
Jason does the DIY – I'll have a go at decorating if it needs doing but it's hard to get things done.

COOKING / MEALS

Who does the cooking in your house?

How often do you sit down and eat together?
We don't tend to eat with the kids. They're really messy and watching them eat is enough to put me off my dinner!

The kids eat together – separate from Jason and me – Tyler keeps an eye on her sisters when they eat. It's been that way so long that the little ones won't eat without her. We do eat Sunday roast together, which Jason cooks.

DAILY ROUTINE

How much time do you need to get you and the family ready in the mornings?
Tyler gets the kids ready in the mornings. She gets them up, dressed, gives them breakfast and then takes them out to play.

How do you spend your week-day evenings?
I watch TV or go up to my mum's for a brew. Jason spends about three or four hours on the computer and then goes to bed. I stay up and go on the Internet. Jason likes a drink in the evening and will sometimes have four cans of lager before bedtime.

What time do you go to bed?
I go to bed between 2am and 3am on a week night – it does make getting up the next morning a struggle. I watch TV or go on the Internet. On the weekend I don't go to bed until 5am.

Jason goes to bed at 11pm when he's working and on Saturday night he will stay up until around 2am.

What do you do at the weekend?
On a Friday, we'll have a take-away from the chippy and some cans of ale. On Saturday, we usually go to the local working men's club. On Sundays, I have a lie-in for most of the day and we all have a roast together.

DISCIPLINE

Who does the childcare?
I do it on weekdays and Jason does it on a Sunday. Tyler helps me with the younger kids.

How do you discipline the children?
I want my children to have freedom and would rather they were badly-behaved but happy, instead of well-behaved and sad. I think rules tie kids down and stop them from thinking for themselves – they have to learn by making mistakes.

I let the kids sort out their arguments as they have to learn to stand up for themselves in life.

THE RELATIONSHIP

Who has the final say in family decisions?
I am the boss in this house. I am stronger than Jason – and louder than him. So, I win most arguments and I get the final say in most decisions.

How would you like to be treated?
I like to get my own way all the time!

HOUSE PHILOSOPHY

Please sum up the philosophy of this house and life within it.
I believe in being happy and not taking life too seriously. I don't believe in rules – either for myself or the kids. We don't have many rules and I hardly ever tell the kids off.
