Sharon's rules
Introduced after a week living with Gerhard:
- Gerhard has to do all the cooking. If he doesn't want to cook then he is to order the take-away
- Sharon will take the afternoons off. Gerhard will pick up the kids. She won't do any cooking or cleaning. Everybody is left to their own devices
- Gerhard will wait on Sharon when he is not working. He will make her cups of tea when she demands and to tend to her needs
- Sharon will bring the TV into the lounge. The family will watch trash TV and films in the evenings and the children are allowed to watch TV whenever they want
- The family will have a karaoke night at home. Sharon will introduce karaoke to the family to loosen them up and express her love of pop music and singing
- Sharon will take the family on a trip to a theme park. She will try to get Gerhard wet on the log flume!
- Sharon will indulge Lotti in some pampering. They will go down to the beauty parlour, get their hair and nails done and have a good make-over
- Sharon will attempt to style Viktoria. She will try to turn the tomboy into a Spice Girl
- Sharon will take Gerhard clubbing and decide what he will wear. She will get wasted and dance her booty off!

Anna-Christina's rules
Introduced after a week living with Andy:
- Anna-Christina will take over the afternoons and cook proper German meals using fresh produce. Junk-food is banned and the kids have to eat vegetables
- Anna-Christina will do all the cleaning and organising and make Andy sandwiches for work
- Anna-Christina will set up a dining table for family meals. There will be no more sitting in front of the TV. The family will eat meals, using a special crockery set, and pay attention to table manners
- Anna-Christina will introduce a formal breakfast. She will introduce a sit-down breakfast, where Jade lays the table and the family talk through their schedules. They will get up early, eat breakfast together and mind their table manners
- There will be a ban/ limit on the amount of TV viewing in the evenings. The family will spend the evening playing board games instead
- Another evening alternative to TV is that all the family will choose a library book and have to spend an hour quietly reading in the front room
- Anna-Christina will take the family on a cultural visit. She will get Andy to take her to see a bit of local culture/history
- Anna-Christina will develop a relationship with the kids. She will have one-to-one chats with Jade every day like she has with her daughter about boyfriends etc.
- Anna-Christina will spend time with Jade, baking cakes. She will buy fresh food and get Jade to cook with her and bake a cake
- Anna-Christina will introduce power-walking to Louise as an alternative to clubbing
- Anna-Christina will introduce a rigourous recycling programme to the family
- Smoking will be banned in the house
