Sharon's household manual
Before filming starts, each wife writes a manual explaining how their house is run. Below are highlights from Sharon's manual.
HOUSEHOLD CHORES
How often do you clean your home?
Every day.
Who does the general cleaning around the house?
Me – I hoover and tidy every morning.
WHO DOES THE FOLLOWING, AND HOW OFTEN?
Cleaning the bathroom?
I clean the toilet every day – the rest of the bathroom, whenever it needs.
Cleaning the kitchen?
Our puppy sleeps in the kitchen at night, so I mop the floor twice a day. I put his bed out in the garden every morning.
Washing-up?
Andy does it as it's not good for my nails and we don't have a dishwasher.
COOKING / MEALS
Who does the cooking in your house?
Andy does it – I hate cooking. I've even managed to burn a microwave meal!
How often do you sit down and eat together?
When Andy's at home, we all try to eat together.
Where do you eat?
We always eat on the sofa in the lounge while watching TV.
When are meal times?
There is no specific time. We eat whenever – it all depends if I have to go out. It's never as late as 7pm; roughly around 6pm.
DAILY ROUTINE
What time do you get up?
I get up at 7am.
What do you do during the day?
Once the kids are at school and I've had a quick tidy-up around the house, I go for a sunbed or toning session at the beauty salon. I also have my nails done every week or so, and go shopping for clothes.
What time to the kids finish school?
Morgan finishes at 1pm and I collect him. Andy collects the girls from school on his way home from work. When he gets home he takes over the cooking and I have a rest.
Do you help the kids with their homework?
I like the kids to have finished their homework before they go out; Andy or I usually help them.
How do you spend your week-day evenings?
When the kids are in bed, Andy and I watch the soaps on TV together. We don't really go out during the week.
What time do you go to bed?
It depends what is on the TV – between 11.30pm and 12am
DISCIPLINE
Who does the childcare? What does it involve?
Andy and I share the childcare. He's quite soft with the kids whereas I'm stricter and tend to shout a bit more.
How do you discipline the children?
We don't smack the kids but I do shout at them if they've been naughty. If the girls are bad I'll make them sit on the stairs or go to their room.
THE RELATIONSHIP
Who has the final say in family decisions?
Me – always, in everything! I'm the boss!
How do you like to be treated?
Like a queen! I'm hard work – Andy puts up with a lot as I have strong opinions. I like to be looked after.
HOUSE PHILOSOPHY
Please sum up the philosophy of this house and life within it.
We're a fun-loving, young family – we're always joking around. I want to be happy and enjoy life. My friends are important to me and so is having a good time. We like to spend money on nice things – you only live once!
