The Beaumont Society is one of the largest support groups with online resources for the transgender community in the UK. It promotes better understanding of the conditions of transgender, transvestism and gender dysphoria thereby creating and improving tolerance and acceptance. It offers weekend reunions, make-up finishing schools, a national information line network, a safe mail box contact system, a wives and partners group (see below) and the Beaumont Magazine.

An organisation offering free, confidential and non-judgmental advice, information and support to all family members, including spouses, partners and friends of transsexual people in the UK. A helpline is currently being planned.

An informal self-help group, open to all female to male transgender and transsexual people or those exploring this aspect of their gender. It has over 750 members in Britain and Europe, and contact with F to M groups worldwide.

Specifically helps adults who are transsexual, gender dysphoric or transgender i.e. those who seek to adjust their lives to live as women or men, or to come to terms with their situation despite their genetic background. They supply services including information about counseling and help for those who are intersex or encountering gender issues in the course of their work across all professions. The Information Line is answered by staff and volunteers who have access to a wide range of information and can offer a listening ear to those who need to talk in confidence.

GIRES' primary mission is to improve the circumstances in which transgenderl people live. Its aim is to generate supportive attitudes among all those who can make those improvements happen and develops good practice guidelines, education programmes and literature specially tailored for each of the groups that it aims to influence.

Supports individual young people whether they are out or not and tries to help families understand and accept their child's gender identity issue. Offers support via telephone, e-mail and snail mail, and wherever possible, meetings. The Mermaids UK Parents offers support, information and a friendship list for parents/guardians/foster parents.
