Have you been to a modern holiday camp before? Did you enjoy it?
I've done Butlins once and a Pontin's caravan break with my family. We did enjoy it, but we prefer going away, ‘cos there's more to do and see.
What do you normally do for a holiday?
I usually go on lads' holidays, to Kavos or places like that.
Did you enjoy being in the 1960s?
I loved it. At first it was a bit daunting. But after while it got a lot easier.
What was the best thing about the 60s? And the worst?
I liked the activities best, there was something different on every day. And there was a great team spirit. The worst thing was going to bed so early and I didn't go a bundle on the clothes or the haircut.
What was your favourite activity? And least favourite?
The Olympics was the best thing, although I had a massive hangover and collapsed half way through a race! There wasn't anything I didn't enjoy really, except I didn't like ballroom dancing at first, but then I got into it.
Favourite food? Least favourite?
Favourite was roast dinner. The worst was liver.
Did you learn anything from living in the 60s?
Respect for other people. I always felt that older people had no respect for the young, but here I got to know some and we got on really well and they said they do respect us.
Would you rather holiday in a 60s camp or a modern camp?
Modern camp with all the luxuries!
Was there anything you missed about modern living?
Everything electrical. I didn't really miss TV after a while though, which surprised me.
Will you be going on holiday to modern camps in the future?
Yeah, definitely. I'm thinking of booking one soon!
