Ellie

Name: Ellie
Age: 17
Occupation: Student

Have you been to a modern holiday camp before?
No I've never been before, it was nice for a change.

What do you normally do for a holiday?
I used to go to our family timeshare in Florida every year. Now I like to have girlie breaks in the sun.

Did you enjoy being in the 1960s?
Yes, I did, especially the hair, make-up and clothes.

What was the best thing about the 60s? And the worst?
I like the fashions best. The worst thing was the regimentation, I felt like I was back at school.

What was your favourite activity? And least favourite?
The dancing competitions were my favourite. But the aerobics sessions in the morning were too early for me!

Favourite food? Least favourite?
I didn't like the food at all, it was really fatty stuff, like spam. Then there was kidney and liver, not exactly a treat.

Did you learn anything from living in the 60s?
It's good to mix with other people more, especially different age groups. Normally we keep ourselves to ourselves much more.

Would you rather holiday in a 60s camp or a modern camp?
A modern camp – it's cleaner, has nicer bedding and nicer food.

Was there anything you missed about modern living?
My mobile phone and CD player.

Will you be going on holiday to modern camps in the future?
No, I'd prefer to go abroad, I wouldn't pay to go to a holiday camp.
