Vee TV
Nikki
Nikki Stratton

It’s been an illustrious year for our award winning presenter Nikki. She started working in television soon after graduating from Wolverhampton University, first as an in-vision signer, then as a performer of signed songs on Bravo. Soon after, she got her break as presenter on VEE-TV, picking up a Remark award for Best Female Presenter for last year’s fifth series.

Away from the hectic world of TV, Nikki keeps busy running media training workshops for deaf people. Nikki is also looking forward to cheering on her husband playing for the Great Britain deaf football team in Sweden over the next couple of months.

What has been your favourite thing about VEE-TV so far this year?

For a start I really enjoyed interviewing Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell – and then Deaf Storm was a scream. While Ahmed and I were presenting a huge cloud of smoke blew over us. Somehow Ahmed carried on presenting. I'm actually looking forward to a lot of the shows coming up as we never know what to expect.

If you had £50 billion to blow on a VEE-TV programme, what would it be about?

Hmmmm, a lotta dosh....there's a lot I would do, one is getting us presenters to have our own camper vans where we can change, ensure we look great and stay out of the freezing cold on our film shoots.....the other would be to have a designer wardrobe. Ho!
I’d also take the chance to introduce more talented Deaf artists into the programmes. It’d also be good to have more technical equipments like more cameras. Maybe we could do more "live" filming, adding more entertainment, fun and laughter....perhaps a Charlie's Angel theme for us presenters, but with Ahmed as the Angel.
Seriously there is so much more we can do in VEE TV and 50 billion pounds would be the icing on the cake.

What do you hope the audience gains from VEE-TV?

Enjoyment.

What is the best lie you’ve ever told?

I'm keeping schtum.

Daddy or chips?

Weird question!?
