Millennium Development Goals (MDG)
All United Nations member states have signed up to achieve certain goals
by 2015. Goal number 1 is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. The
website has information about the goals plus lots or relevant links and

UNICEF
(United Nations Children's Fund)
UNICEF is the UN agency that works to protect children and help them achieve
a better life by combating poverty, conflict and HIV/AIDS. The site has
tons of information and includes Voices of Youth for young people.

Website of the UN's global development network, which links and co-ordinates
global and national efforts to help people to improve their lives. The
site has lots of information on volunteering and articles about development.
