VEE-REVIEW:
Hitch
According to Will Smith, Hitch is
a 'dawg-gone near-perfect movie'. But he would say that, wouldn't he?
So what did our reviewers think?
Check out the clips or read the transcripts below.
'In your typical romantic comedy, you usually expect the guy or the woman
to woo the other person, it all builds up, and then it's perfect in the
end,' says Martine Laverta. 'And this isn't like that – it's different
from what you expect.'
'There's this man and he's learning to dance – it's really funny,'
says Matthew Powe. 'They're in this really small flat, and he needs to
improve because he's used to dancing one way, and he has to change –
it's the best bit.'
'Women relate dancing to sex,' says Hitch. 'All right?'
'The funniest scene in the film is when Will Smith takes the woman [Sara,
played by Eva Mendes] for dinner,' says Ben Harrison. 'He has a food allergy,
and his face swells up, and he has to go to the shop to find something
to help him in a panic. It's hilarious.'
'Will Smith usually does action movies, and this is a romance,' says Charlie
Swinbourne. 'But I think it suits him because Will Smith obviously loves
women, so this film shows who he really is.'
