Wanna be in Grange Hill? If you're a female aged between 15 and 18 you
could be in with a chance. The programme-makers are looking for a talented
actress to play the part of a deaf character. You need to be quick though

The Deaf Rave Summer
of Love date has changed to 6 August. It's at The Mass in Brixton, London.

SignHealth
SignHealth is
a computer programme that doctors and nurses can use to help them communicate
with deaf patients. Their interactive website has BSL features and is
now available to GPs throughout the country. You can access the site until

The Producers
How about a trip to the theatre? If you can get to London, tickets for
captioned showings of The Producers are on sale now. The dates
are the evening of 21 June and daytime on 22 June. More information about

Subtitled cinemas
Cinemas throughout the UK have pledged to mark Deaf
Awareness Week (May 2-8) by screening extra subtitled films. UCI has
said that 14 of its cinemas will screen a subtitled film each day. You
can help improve your access to local cinemas – find out how by
visiting YourLocalCinema.com.
Swedish Youth Camp
Are you between 13-17 years old? Are you interested in going to the World
Federation of the Deaf Junior Youth Camp in Sweden this summer? The BDA
is looking for four people to attend the camp from July 8 to 17. It costs
only £25 plus spending money. Closing date for applications is April
29.

Deaf Awareness Week
Would you like to hold an event during Deaf Awareness Week (May 2-8) but
don't know how to go about it? If you need any help with ideas then contact
the UK
Council on Deafness (UKCoD). When you've decided what you're going
to do, they can help you publicise the event by adding it to their Events
Diary. They'll send the Deaf Awareness Week logo for you to put on
your publicity material too.

training fund for disabled actors that want to get on TV. You can find
