Deaf Awareness
Week
Would you like to hold an event during Deaf Awareness Week (May 2-8) but don't
know how to go about it? If you need any help with ideas then contact the UK
Council on Deafness (UKCoD). When you've decided what you're going to do,
they can help you publicise the event by adding it to their Events
Diary. They'll send the Deaf Awareness Week logo for you to put on your
publicity material too.
You can write to them at UKCoD, Westwood Park, Little Horkesley, Colchester,
CO6 4BS. Telephone on 01206 274 075. Text on 01206 274076. Fax on 01206 274077.

Talent fund
Channel 4, the BBC and actors centres are working together on a talent training
fund for disabled actors that want to get on TV. You can find out more here
or call BBC Recruitment on 0870 333 1330, quoting reference number 76463. All
information is available in accessible format upon request.
Got an opinion?
Would you like to appear on VEE-TV? We're looking for enthusiastic and outgoing
young deaf people who have something to say about current affairs and issues
affecting young people – and who aren't afraid to say it!
If you'd like to take part in a debate to be filmed in mid April, please send
an e-mail to c.swinbourne@mavericktv.co.uk,
telling us a little about yourself, and explaining what you think is currently
the most important issue for young people and why.
With a general election looming, we also want to hear from as many of you as
possible about what policy/policies would win your vote. So if you'd like to
get something off your chest but you don't want to appear on the show, let us
know what you think at comments@vee-tv.com.
Newsletter
As we hope you've noticed by now, our website has now been refurbished, revamped
