VEE-TALENT
This week the featured talent was Rebecca-Anne
Withey, who performed to the Sugarbabes' 'Hole in the Head'.
Rebecca-Anne has been dancing since she was three years old. She
went on to perform with the Annabel Humpage School of Dance and then joined
Mary Hare sixth form and the Newbury Contemporary Dance Company.
Rebecca-Anne choreographed Christmas productions at Mary Hare (Starlight
Express 2002, Catz 2003) as well as performing, and got an 'A'
grade for her music, dance and drama performance (A-level performance arts).
Now 19, Rebecca is a first-year student at the University of Wolverhampton and
is on the verge of setting up a dance/aerobics class for deaf people in Walsall.
Rebecca-Anne's ambition is 'to demonstrate the powerful visual creativity deaf
people have, and show this to their advantage. This is done by gradually increasing
awareness of the talent and versatility deaf performers have, and hopefully
I can create a full deaf-cast performance company.'
