10 March
During one of his
classes at the college, Michael discusses
being deaf and proud or being deaf and wanting to be hearing. He urges
his students to think about deafness as a house in which they have the
key to every room. If they try to live as hearing people, there will always
be a room they cant get into.
Troy
drops a leaflet about cochlear implants in his Uncle Errols
shop and Errol finds it. Nicky is warned
by his tutor, Annie, that as hes already
doing community service he can't afford any more trouble. Wanting to impress
Kelly, Adam
enlists Troys help in getting fit. Kelly starts to realise that
Adam fancies her and her mothers boyfriend, Alan, walks into
her bedroom as she is getting dressed. Mel
sees her married ex-lover with a blonde woman who she assumes is his wife.
Many of the
organisations listed in Find Out More can
provide more information about cochlear implants.
