Thailand

This past week has
been a great experience. When we arrived in Thailand we headed to a small
island called Koh Phi Phi. It is a paradise island taken over by tourism
I'm ashamed to say that I am one of the culprits adding more Western
influence to such a beautiful place. We managed to find a room right by
a lagoon, where we can just step out of our door and go for a dip, but
behind our room is beach! It's one of those islands where there are two
main parts joined together by a thin strip of land. The thin strip is
where all the bars and hotels/chalets are.
We booked ourselves
on to a snorkelling trip. IT WAS FANTASTIC! I could not believe how much
fun snorkelling could be. We travelled around on a little but long boat
(like in the James Bond film Man with the Golden Gun). From 9am
until 4pm we travelled to four different local islands, went to a few
lagoons (really really beautiful and breathtaking sights) and snorkelled.
When we sailed into the lagoon I felt I had been taken away from the whole
world and I was in my own little paradise. There were so many tropical
fish and corals I was constantly swimming as deep as I could instead of
swimming at the surface level because there was so much life to see down
there.
Anyway
Unfortunately
I got sunburn (again!). However I did find out that coconut oil is good
for sunburn it's what they use out here and it helped me. But I was
determined to have a good night out in spite of the pain. The drinks were
sooo cheap, we were buying buckets, filling them with whisky and Red Bull!
Met a few people and had a really good laugh, but unfortunately because
I was exhausted from the day's trip I passed out at 11.30! I couldn't
handle the amount of alcohol I had. Everyone in the club ran over to me,
put me in the recovery position, panicked, thought I was on 'E' blah blah
All very embarrassing! But Ju and Fi looked after me and, in their
drunken state, they had to explain to the people surrounding me that I
was not on drugs but it was alcohol that had knocked me out. Of course
I suffered in the morning and of course I told myself 'NEVER AGAIN!'
So long hope to
hear from you soon

Subject: Moving on
Hello everyone!
We are in Thailand
at the moment. We love it already! We believed that we had had enough
time in Malaysia so we decided that we had to move on and forced ourselves
to say good-bye to Malaysia, which was sad! But we suddenly settled down
in Thailand when we arrived in Koh Phi Phi. I cannot describe how beautiful
it was! We have fallen in love with that island!
We stayed there for
four nights and we were upset when we had to leave Koh Phi Phi for Koh
Samui! We found it so strange to sleep on the boat, which provided beds
but no chairs, no tables! Amazing, isnt it?
Take care
