Kelly Kelly is the deaf daughter of a hearing mother, Vicky, whose husband has left home. Her good looks and warm, easy-going personality suggest that she has everything going for her, but her parents' break-up has made her vulnerable. She's no match for the more streetwise students such as Mel. Under the surface, Kelly is deeply unhappy particularly since her mother has found a boyfriend whom Kelly dislikes. The part of Kelly is a second television role for Samantha Baker, at 16 years old the youngest member of the cast. She is a deaf student at Heathlands School in St Albans. Samantha's first screen acting role was Clare in the BAFTA-winning schools drama Dream On, also written by Ray Harrison Graham for Channel 4. |
