From King Harry to Harry PotterKenneth Branagh is probably best-known for his film adaptations of Shakespearean plays, but he has had a hugely varied and successful career as an actor, director and writer Born in Northern Ireland in 1960, Branagh was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. At the age of only 23 his portrayal of Henry V for the Royal Shakespeare Company won him widespread acclaim. He went on to find success on the big screen with such films as Henry V, Dead Again, Much Ado About Nothing, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and many more. In 2002 he played Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. VEE-TV particularly wanted to meet Kenneth Branagh because last year he wrote and directed a film called Listening, about a silent retreat where a deaf man falls in love.
