Darren Jefferies

This week VEE-TV met a Hollyoaks heartthrob – Darren Jefferies, who plays Sam O'Brien (OB)

Hollyoaks is Darren's first professional acting job, but he was heavily involved in acting at school and took a GCSE in drama. Darren says he enjoys football and swimming and loves watching films. He's also hooked on computer games.

'I enjoy playing OB the way he is because I think most of the other characters are quite lucky in love – OB is a bit sad in that way, but at least it sets him apart from the rest of the characters. He's fun to play too, because I suppose it's a bit boring playing a happy character all the time …'

'There are some [similarities between me and OB]; I don't think I'm as immature as him or as stupid, but I'm always up for a laugh like him …'

'I don't think I'd pose nude. I don't mind doing nude scenes on screen, but doing it as me, Darren Jefferies, no way. The more you do it on screen, though, the more you get used to it …'
