Adam

Adam

Like all the students, Adam has now left college, and he's looking for the next step in his life. He still shares a flat with Troy, and he is still in many ways the centre of the group of friends. Sociable, funny, and well liked, he's someone that can be relied on, and he's very sensitive to the moods and needs of the others. Adam has always had very strong feelings for Kelly, and he supported her when she was struggling with her experience of sexual abuse. Frightened and confused, Kelly was unable to consider a relationship at that time and tried to keep Adam at a distance.

Jason Taylor, who plays Adam, talked to VEE-TV online about the role. 'What's interesting about Adam is the little bit of the comedian in him,' he says, 'and the fact that he wears his heart on his sleeve – the way he shows how much he really cares about his friends, especially Kelly, who he loves madly. And he's a scruffy person, which is a little like me, but only sometimes!'

Jason was born in Woolwich, south-east London, in 1978. He went to Oak Lodge School for deaf students in Wandsworth and then studied drama and the performing arts at South Thames College in Putney (coincidentally, this is the location used for the college in RUSH).

Jason has worked extensively with Ray Harrison Graham, RUSH's writer/director. He has played Woyzeck in Büchner's play of the same name for Graeae Theatre Company, Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream for Shakespeare Link, Nice Guy Eddie in Reservoir Wolves for Remark!, and Ben in Channel 4's Strong Language. He has also been involved in forum theatre with Greenwich Young People's Theatre, played Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night, and directed the first ever performance by children of National Holocaust Memorial Day.

For the future, he is interested in writing and directing as well as acting.
