Rush

RUSH focuses on the lives of six students at a mainstream college – on their relationships and their ambitions, and on their struggle to make sense of their lives.

RUSH is written and directed by Ray Harrison Graham and produced by Hilary Durman, who together with Cilla Ware created the award-winning dramas Strong Language (Japan Prize, Prix Jeunesse) and Dream On (BAFTA and Royal Television Society).

Episode 4

Adam wakes Troy to tell him he is going to see his sister, to try to find out who her daughter Kara’s father is. Kara slips away from him when his back is turned, but after a panic-stricken search, he finds her safe, playing with Mel. Adam tries to talk to Mel, but she insists she doesn’t know who he is.

Meanwhile Nicky, in a bar with Wayne, is finding it hard to believe that they’ve spent all the money from their drugs scam – £2000 – in one evening out in the West End. Wayne leaves, saying he is going home, but then we see him in another bar with Kelly. They seem to be attracted to each other.

Mel returns home from working at the lap-dancing club. Then Nicky turns up pushes his way in, insisting he’s her husband and he wants his dinner. Mel can’t keep up the pretence of having lost her memory any longer, and bursts out laughing. She is pleased to see Nicky and it looks like he finally has somewhere to stay.

Troy arrives home to find Adam already back from seeing his sister in hospital, where she is recovering from a drugs overdose. Adam is in a grim mood and we quickly find out why. His sister has told him the truth. Kara’s father is Troy.
