Kelly is in acute pain and distress as she considers her situation and tries to free herself of her abuser, Alan, and his power over her.

Maya attends a special farewell dinner for Anjali with Anil and members of the family. She pleads with Anil not to let Anjali go through with an arranged marriage. But Anil sees no life for Anjali in England.

Adam sees Mel sitting alone in a bar and goes in to talk to her. Mel is badly bruised. Adam is horrified and wants to help her, but Mel is drunk and simply wants him to stay and dance with her.

Nicky, Kelly and Mel are brought together in a sequence of intense hurt and anguish. We see Nicky losing control completely and trashing his prison cell, as Kelly bangs her head violently to try to dislodge the pain inside, and Mel dances wildly until she falls to the floor unconscious.
