Fit for kicks

Fit for kicks

Taekwondo champion Andrew Yick says he's popular with the girls, because not only can he do the splits, but he looks like Bruce Lee! In fact it was seeing a Bruce Lee film when he was 12 that got Andrew into martial arts in the first place.

Now 18, Andrew is keen to set up a martial arts club teaching deaf people, and he is currently taking soundings with schools and deaf clubs to gauge interest. His own teacher is hearing because he couldn't find a deaf one.

'Taekwondo not only makes you fit and works all your muscles, it brings inner confidence and a sense of self-esteem,' Andrew says. 'You're never too old to start.'
