The Jack Ashley Millennium Awards

An initiative run by the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) and supported by a £1.7 million lottery grant from the Millennium Commission, designed to give young deaf people opportunities which their hearing peers can take for granted. Wolverhampton has a large deaf and hearing-impaired student population. Its Communications Support Unit offers BSL/English interpreters, lip-speakers, note-takers, English support tutorials, study skills and technical tutorials taught in BSL plus a range of videos and audiological equipment available for lending.
