Is the ideal for all children to be educated in the same school, with special provision made within the school to meet different needs? Or are certain children's needs met more effectively elsewhere?

Today, fewer than 1.5% of children with special needs attend special schools. Many advocacy groups see this as a step towards tolerance of diversity. But other campaigners argue that certain children with disabilities are likely to do better in schools wholly focused on their needs. We look at the debate.

Black boys' academic performance in primary school is equal to or higher than that of their peer group. So what happens at secondary school? We examine the controversy and the confusion around black boys and school.
