Psychologist's View - Judgement Day
The housemates have to learn to live with their guilty secret...
There's been an unprecedented amount of guilt on Day Five in the Teen
Big Brother House.
"The jurors have a secret," says Dr Gareth Smith, Teen
Big Brother's psychiatrist. "They all feel responsible for
Hasan's eviction and are dealing with it in different ways."
Tommy, who was Hasan's closest friend in the House is suffering
from guilt by association, according to Dr Gareth. He says, "[Tommy]
blames himself for being involved in the eviction process and tries
to alleviate these remorseful feelings by seeking comfort in the
closeness of others."
Caroline, meanwhile, expresses her emotions quite openly and the
others interpret these feelings as guilt.

In the Diary Room, however, the Kent girl clearly doesn't regret
her decision about Hasan and is actually upset because she is feeling
unpopular. "Caroline is displaying pseudo guilt," says
Dr Gareth, "she is masking her true feelings by hiding behind
her tears."
Shaneen on the other hand is showing genuine signs of survivor
guilt. She is torn between her feeling of relief that she is staying
and responsibility about Hasan's leaving. Her behaviour mirrors
her true feelings.
The judgement has been announced and for the first time the housemates
have to face the consequences of their actions.
