Psychologist's View - Girls v Boys
The teens have only been in the House for 24 hours - and already it's a game of two halves...
Just one day in, and Teen Big Brother psychiatrist Dr Gareth Smith
has already noticed a clear distinction between the two groups in
the House - the girls and the boys.
He says, on entering the House, the girls immediately took on the
role of hostesses and homemakers, while the boys gravitated to the
more practical tasks.

Dr Gareth says this is a typical example of social learning theory.
"This theory states that girls and boys have to learn to behave
differently from one another because they treat each other differently.
"By adopting the traditional gender roles from the outset,
the housemates are establishing a very clear difference between
the sexes," he says.
According to Dr Gareth, Paul is the only housemate to display personality
traits typical of both the sexes. This means he gets involved in
the typical male pursuits, but he also doesn't shy away from the
more feminine activities.
Dr Gareth thinks Paul hasn't realised this behaviour doesn't appeal
to everyone, and he could find himself facing hostility and criticism
as the days go by.
