With each task, the housemates seem to be increasing their levels of confidence…
Having failed the flight navigation task, the teenagers have clearly made more of an effort to do well in the tasks since then. As a result, they're proving to be more capable than they'd realised.
Today's task was all about passing on their skills to another housemate. This divided the group into those who were confident about teaching a task and those who had no qualms about learning a task.
Jade showed a basic level of confidence in teaching Paul how to limbo like a holiday camp rep and she seemed relaxed and happy.
But when Paul tried to teach her how to create a hairstyle on a dummy, she found it difficult and lost her nerve. In her frustration, she ended up in a shouting match with Paul.
Jade showed she was the least confident at learning a new skill. "This is the reason I didn't want to be a hairdresser," she snapped. "I have no patience."
Tommy, however, appeared to be more confident about learning a new skill than he was about teaching one. When Big Brother announced that his task was to teach a housemate how to skateboard, he immediately started making excuses.
"I haven't been on my skateboard for ages," he claimed. "I ride my bike now."
But when it came to learning how to draw a portrait with help from Hasan, Tommy seemed relaxed and calm. "This is coming on nicely," he told Hasan, as he competently sketched a picture of the London lad. A keen graffiti artist, Tommy was able to make use of his own drawing skills and his confidence was boosted.
The fact that Hasan described Tommy's finished portrait as "wicked" made Tommy even more self-assured when he went into the Diary Room to find out whether or not he'd passed the task.
When asked by Big Brother how well he thought he'd done, he sat back in the chair proudly and said, "Very well, I hope."
Beauty therapist Tracey was far less confident about learning how to play golf under James' instruction. Going into the Diary Room to hear her results she was nervous and unsure of herself. Asked how she thought she'd done, she said, "I hope I passed, did I?"
But the diminutive Cheshire girl needn't have doubted her skills. She'd managed to pass the required task - to score a hole in one in five minutes - with "confidence and determination."
It was only after this reassurance from Big Brother that Tracey was able to
walk back into the living room to face the housemates with confidence and pride.
In the group, it's Tracey who feels the least confident in her ability.
