Dressing Up
What excites a group of 18-year-olds more than anything? Why new clothes of course...
Big Brother has given the housemates some new clothes, provoking more
banter than alcohol ever could.
Initially, they were told to give up their personal belongings
- including all their own clothes, which were replaced with orange
jumpsuits.
Tommy was more than a little hacked off with this, declaring: "All
I want is my T shirt and trainers and I'll be a happy man."
Then, Big Brother returned their clothes and announced they could
pick one item of clothing from a clothing rack left in the storeroom.
Jade was first to go bounding in to the Aladdin's cave of fashion,
with Shaneen following closely behind.

"Oh wicked, are they cool clothes?" asked Shaneen before
reaching the room.
"Don't get too
[excited]," replied Jade eyeballing
the items.
Wheeling the rack into the main living area, James spied the goodies
and was not too impressed. "It's pure charity stuff,"
he scoffed.
Hairdresser Paul was equally snotty. "Not liking any of these
clothes," he announced, heartily wading through each and every
one.
"Me neither," agreed Jade who appeared equally engrossed
in the fashion hunt. Seconds later she pulled out a fetching red
and grey silky tracksuit. "Paul, you gotta wear this tracksuit!"
she shrieked, as everyone fell about laughing, imagining the spectacle.
But Paul had other ideas. "No, I want to be '80s retro."
But not finding anything with which to create this look, he huffed:
"What is going on with these clothes? Why is there nothing
gay?"
The girls had other concerns, namely finding pieces that fit. "Size
14 is not going to fit me," announced Tracey proudly.
"Size 14 might fit me," added a meek Shaneen.
But after a few minutes, they each chose an item that passed muster
and went off merrily to try on their new gladrags.
