Belhaven Fruit Farm on the A1 at Thistly Cross Round-a-bout, Dunbar supply PYO, mainly strawberries, but also raspberries, blueberries, gooseberries, blackberries, and blackcurrents from early June to September.

The strawberries are 1 metre tall so no bending for the pickers and they are in polythene covered tunnels. The varieties of strawberries are elsanta, ava and flamenco and in our opinion the ava are superior.

We produce an early and late raspberry with a yellow rasp for interest. We also have three varieties of blueberries to lengthen the season.

The fruit farm also produces a fat free alternative to ice cream, which is dairy and gluten free. We like to call it "guilt free ice cream" but because there is no dairy in it we are not allowed to call it ice cream.

So Belhaven Fruit Ice contains 40% strawberries, 40% raspberries, 40% apple or 30% lemon. In the last month our customer base has risen from 8 outlets in East Lothian to 91 outlets in East Lothian, Fife, Stirling, Perthshire, West Lothian and the Borders.
