Pelswick is a 13-year-old eighth grader who lives with dad 'Quentin', sister Kate and Gram-Gram. He’s in a wheelchair because his legs are paralysed but this never stops Pelswick enjoying himself — although it can cause a few problems when the school bullies decide it’s his turn to be picked on. Luckily, Pelswick is a lot brighter than them and is never short of a smart remark to stop them in their tracks. When one bully calls him a 'cripple' he quips that he prefers the term 'permanently seated'!
