Make-up for stretch marks
Our expert this week was celebrity make up artist Amanda Grossman.

With nearly 80% of the nation complaining of stretch marks, those with the lovely lady lines really shouldn't feel alone. Gok's got a few top tips on how to hide and disguise them, as well as a few products that will help the appearance.

None of them are a miracle cure, but they will definitely help you to love those lines a little more!

  • During pregnancy, although you can't guarantee avoiding stretch marks, rubbing a rich product into the skin means it won't have to work so hard afterwards.

  • For a splurge Amanda recommends using Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil (£32)

  • Amanda also recommends combining Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil with Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks (£4.99) for a truly luxurious treat.

  • Bio Oil (£7.60) is a great alternative for those on a budget and is rapidly gaining a cult status.

  • A really good trick to prevent the stretch mark jumping out at you is good old fake tan – it'll dull down that highlight that you get from stretch marks.

  • If you're going to be showing your problem area and want some extra coverage, use a camouflage make up to literally erase the stretch marks.

  • Dermacolor Mini Palette (£12.50) is a super strong concealer that can make body blemishes disappear. For a flawless finish just follow these simple tips.

  • The best way to apply it is by dabbing a pale colour all over to cover the marks, and then use the other colours in the palette to blend this with your skin tone. Once you have covered those lines, finally fix the make up with Dermacolor fixing Powder (£15.70).

  • This all takes a little practice to get right, but you will need natural light to get it picture perfect, so head out in to the garden and get practising!

  • Camouflage make up is waterproof too and perfect for a day at the beach. It can also be used to cover tattoos, birthmarks, veins and scars.

  • Other great products are Mac Face and Body Foundation (£23), which comes in a variety of colours to match any skin tone and Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation (£13).
