The following script contains details of organisations offering information and support to anyone affected by child abuse or suicide, now or in the past. The phone lines to some of these organisations are very busy, but please keep trying.
There's a website called Moving On which has been created by and for young adults with parents who joined the religious organisation The Family or Children of God. You'll find plenty of support and information at www.movingon.org.
The organisation Cult Information Centre has a website with information and support for those involved with a cult and their concerned families and friends. Go to Awww.cultinformation.org.uk.
NAPAC - The National Association for People Abused in Childhood provides support no matter how long ago the abuse took place, pointing people in the right direction to take control of their own recovery. Call their free confidential helpline 0800 085 3330 (Mondays - Fridays 10.30am-3pm). More information and a list of regional support services are available at their website www.napac.org.uk.
If you're concerned about the safety of a child the NSPCC Child Protection Helpline on 0808 800 5000 (free, confidential 24hours every day). This number is also free from many mobiles. A free textphone service is in place for people who are hard of hearing on 0800 056 0566. There’s also an e mail helpline, send messages to help@nspcc.org.uk.
Maytree Respite Centre aims to save lives and to relieve the suffering of young people at serious and immediate risk of suicide. During a short stay of up to four nights Maytree can offer support and befriending to help people get through a crisis, without pressure or judgement and with total confidentiality. Contact Maytree on 0207 263 7070 (vaialable 24 hours a day) or find out more about the centre at www.maytree.org.uk.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide or SOBS, provide specialist emotional support and practical information for people bereaved by suicide. Call their national helpline 0870 2413 337 (Every day 9am-9pm). They also have a website at www.uk-sobs.org.uk.
The organisation Support after Murder and Manslaughter or SAMM, is a self help group who offer understanding and support to families and friends who have been bereaved as a result of murder or manslaughter. You can call their helpline on 0207 735 3838 (Mondays - Fridays 9am-5pm) where your call will be answered by someone who has suffered a similar tragedy. You can also e mail to enquiries@samm.org.uk or check the website www.samm.org.uk.
If you are interested in receiving counselling on any aspect of your life, you can ask your GP to refer you. Or you can obtain a list of suitable qualified counsellors in your area through The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy from the website at www.bacp.co.uk.
