Use your vote and have your say
(PA/EMPICS)
In the last general election in 2001, turnout fell from 71.4%
to just 59.4% of the population. Fewer than six in ten eligible
voters took part in deciding the UK's next government. So if you're
one of the tens of millions of people who doesn't vote, what sort
of Britain could you wake up to on 6 May?
If Labour get in for their third successive term, how will you
feel about having to carry an identity card with you at all times?
What about top-up and tuition fees continuing for students in
higher education?
If the Conservatives regain office, how will you feel about pulling
back from the EU and cuts of £35 billion to public services? Or
if the BNP succeed, how will you feel about living in a society
that monitors all its Muslims and refuses refuge for asylum seekers
fleeing persecution? Don't vote and these are just some of the
situations that could become real.
