One of the Yes Men posing as an apologist
for the Bhopal industrial disaster

The Yes Men
A group of culture-jamming activists, the Yes
Men are most famous for their 'corrected' World Trade Organisation
website (at gatt.org)
and for issuing an apology on behalf of the company responsible
for the Bhopal gas disaster in India that killed thousands. They've
done a pretty good job of showing up the businessmen where it
counts.
By faking themselves as corporate types, they've been able to
get invitations to address various elite meetings – with hilarious
results. They've given speeches arguing that the US Civil War
was a waste of money because Third World countries now willingly
supply equivalent slaves, and encouraging corporations to buy
votes directly from citizens.
You too can become a Yes Man – in fact, you become one automatically,
they say, when you 'expose, perhaps deviously, the nastiness of
powerful evildoers'. But isn't what they do illegal? 'Perhaps
it is!,' they admit. 'And we don't know! Lawyers don't seem to
know. But then the law is pretty irrelevant, as far as corporations
are concerned.'
