Pro-life
The pro-life movement has made its mark over the last 40 years
with its strong opposition to women's choice to terminate pregnancy
through abortion. The movement's main argument is that a foetus
has a right to life, and should have the same legal protection
as those of us walking around.
Although the pro-life movement is associated with extreme tactics
- such as alleged violence against doctors and showing images
of aborted foetuses – it is really quite diverse in the strategies
it uses to get its message out. The UK pro-life movement, for
example, has taken on numerous non-violent media and protest campaigns
to get public attention. And in the US, which tends to mix the
pro-life and religious debates with mainstream politics, the fire
of the pro-life movement is far from out.
