What Can I Do About It?

Just Do It

NFU on a march

The NFU: giving a voice to British Farming

Campaigns > Farmers Union

Rather predictably, if not unimportantly, the National Farmers' Union (NFU) looks after the interests of the farmers and growers of England and Wales. Its aims are to promote successful, socially responsible farming, and to make sure rural communities stay vital and successful.

Like the Countryside Alliance, the NFU's not affiliated with any political party.

Rather, it gives a 'voice to British farming', and works hard to promote farmers' interests in the UK through intensive lobbying, and in the European Union, where it produces policy documents.

The NFU is the largest organisation of its kind for farmers. With over three quarters of full-time farmers on its books, it's not a group to be messed with. Is that a pitchfork in your hand, or are you just pleased to see me?
