What Can I Do About It?

Stop the IMF protester

If you have something to say, see who else agrees with you
(PA/EMPICS)

Voting isn’t the only way of getting involved. If you don’t like something, tell someone. Then tell someone else. Direct action, organizing a peaceful protest, getting involved in a campaign outside the mainstream, can all work if you really mean it. Women got the vote in 1918 and that was only after suffragettes had chained themselves to Downing Street, sung a lot of protest songs and – probably – taken ages getting ready in the bathroom. In Ukraine, people had to sit down in the middle of the road listening to heavy metal for two weeks before they got the chance of a free vote. So get online and look for someone who feels the same as you.
