Fancy studying abroad? Dont forget, it'll
cost more to phone home.

Feeling fed up and thinking of going abroad?
That could cost you a bit too.
France
In France you pay roughly £210 per year for tuition fees
(about £420 per year for engineering courses). This is because
the government spends more per student. They put aside roughly
6,000 euros (about £4200) – meaning that they allocate a
lot of tax per person to fund education. You’ll need at most around
1,000 euros a month (roughly £700) to live on. This would
include the cost of your flat, food, books and money for going
out.
Holland
Compared to France, the cost of Holland’s tuition is higher.
You can expect to pay around 1,500 euros a year (about £700)
– more for scientific-based courses. The average cost of living
and buying books for your course each year is around £9,000,
based on studying in Amsterdam. If you were to study elsewhere
in Holland, these costs could be lower.
USA
In the USA you can pay anything between $15,000 to $40,000 a
year just for tuition fees and your housing costs. That’s between
£7,800 and £21,000! These costs vary depending on
the university and course you choose. If you add to that the money
you’ll need for food, travel, books and the rest, you can expect
to pay out quite a lot. Financial assistance is also not common,
unless you’re lucky enough to get a scholarship. |
