Anthony Edwards (Dr Mark Greene in ER)
'Parents of autistic children have very little spare time or
energy. Children with autism don't have a voice. Scientists and
researchers are optimistic about positive results if they are
given the support they need. Helping to fund and shed light on
the best science is bringing hope to millions of families. This
is why I have worked for the last eight years with the Cure Autism
Now foundation. I have seen the difference that supporting hope
can make.'
Alan Dale (Caleb Nichol in The OC)
'Whatever you want to achieve in life, there is one phrase, one
saying, once uttered by Winston Churchill that will overcome every
obstacle. “Never, never, never, give up”. I have it taped to the
top of my computer monitor and on the door of my refrigerator.'
Bridgid Nzekwu (reporter/presenter on Channel 4 News)
'One of the most significant events in my life was developing
Hodgkin's disease, a form of cancer, when I was 18. Now I'm completely
healthy – two years of chemotherapy and radiotherapy cured me
and I've been in remission since 1990. But sadly I lost my mother
to breast cancer in 2002. Her long battle with the disease made
me want to get involved in the search for a cure. So I support
Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Charities like these bring hope to
sufferers and are taking us closer to the day when we can finally
cure this terrible illness, which kills more than one thousand
women every month in the UK alone.'
