Jungle living
Here's what Pete and Pam had to say about their experience, six months after they returned from the jungle.
Pete
'The trip far exceeded my expectations, and the best part was building my own house, using only the resources of the jungle. Preparation and research are the key to a successful trip but I also realised how important people are and I found it very difficult having only one person to communicate with for a long period even worse when it's your sister! If I went on another adventure, I'd prefer to go with someone I know better than Pam but having said that we are now a bit closer.'
Pam
'The tribespeople made us so welcome. We always managed to communicate and taught the children to speak with a Yorkshire accent! I was unprepared for the intense heat and the insect bites. At the outset, I thought my brother was being patronising, but we cleared the air and things improved. We shared some long and meaningful talks about our past, present and future and got to know each other pretty well. It would have been better for me to go alone, though, so I could prove that I could do things for myself. Even so, I now feel much more confident.'
