The City Gardener


The City Gardener is coming to a city near you

Are you reluctant, unconfident, the most time-challenged of gardeners?

Has your back been turned for so long on the garden that it has now taken on a life of its own?

Is the space so awkward that even Einstein would have trouble deciding where to position the BBQ?

Matt James, the City Gardener, is looking for gardens to feature in his new series on Ch4.

We want to hear from people who want to turn their city space into any of the following:
  • An outdoor film theatre
  • An inner-city wildlife garden
  • A rooftop oasis
  • A communal/shared space
  • A tranquil water-featured retreat
  • An outdoor office
If so, all you need is some energy, enthusiasm and a minimum budget of £1500. Please note - gardens no larger than 30ft x 30ft
