Age: 17
Rachael was in the Brownies as a child. She was happy at school with lots of friends and was a very good long-distance runner. Just two years ago, she was a gentle honey-blonde child, according to her mother. Rachael was even enjoying being in the police cadets.
Everything seemed to change when she became a Goth, she was booted out of the cadets for failing to remove her 18 piercings and she began staying out all night, never letting her mum know where she was.
Rachael was no longer interested in the police force, she was keen to get as many piercings as possible and she was drinking to excess.

The last of the teenagers to graduate, Rachael has now returned to England and she has decided that she wants to re-join the police cadets.

To do this, she has reduced her piercings. Having kicked drugs, she says she now realises who her friends are.
