Age: 16
Dan was a huge fan of the Frisbee when he was a young boy, say his parents. He was also in the Beavers and the Cubs, was mad about Judo and loved quad biking. He was bright, happy and popular and his school predicted that he would get As and Bs at GCSE last summer. That was before the drug-taking played havoc with his mind.
After he started taking drugs, he became increasingly depressed, his relationship with his parents broke down and he managed only Ds in his exams.
His relationship with his parents became so bad that he moved out to live with friends, before managing to reach a compromise with his mum and dad and move back into his parent's garage. He got no further than that and when he tried a job at Sainsbury's he was sacked for stealing.

Another one of the first teenagers to graduate, Dan is now living back in his old bedroom at home with his parents.

He has kicked drugs. He has enrolled on a Prince's Trust outward bound course and helps out in a soup kitchen.

His father runs his own mechanics business, supporting the middle-class family home in Ewell, Surrey.
After the camp... Dan's mum, Ginny:
'He can start living his life again, cos he'd stopped living it for quite a long while and I think he's back on track again now.'
