Boy Meets Girl

judges
Steve/Sandra
Steve, a 21-year-old
shop assistant who lives with two friends in Manchester, is outgoing.
Like many urban young men, he enjoys going to the pub and chatting up
girls. This is part of the reason behind his desire to participate in
Channel 4's experiment. How would he feel if the tables were turned? Steve
is interested in how it would feel to walk into a club and feel the eyes
of the men in the room turn to him. He's hoping he might get a few free
drinks out of it.
Stan/Stacey
Stan is an actor who
lives with his girlfriend and three children. He is a fitness fanatic
- and it shows. Tall, muscular and handsome, it is difficult to see how
he is going to transform himself into a convincing woman. Stan sees the
Boy Meets Girl experiment as a professional challenge. He believes
that playing a woman will be the ultimate test of his acting abilities.
He is not confident he will succeed.
Blaine/Jessica
Blaine is an aspiring
writer who hails from America but is currently living in Wales. He is
interested in the experiment on a personal level: although he has female
friends, he has always felt confused by women, by the nature of femaleness.
He wants to see if he can move beyond the artifice of cross-dressing
the wig and the nails to discover what else changes when he assumes
a female persona.
Pablo/Agetha/Joelle
A keen Sunday League
footballer who works in a language school, Pablo looks as though he may
make a convincing woman. The 21-year-old has long, braided hair, delicate
features and an infectious laugh. His reasons for participating in the
programme are purely frivolous. He thinks it will be a laugh and is looking
forward to fooling people. He wants to walk into a pharmacy, buy some
tampons and see if anyone gives him a second glance.
