Helen/Bob

A part-time actress, Helen lives alone in London. She has recently split up with her long-term boyfriend and sees the Boy Meets Girl project as a way of understanding what went wrong between them. She wants to know why men experience life so differently from women. Perhaps by assuming the physical appearance of a man, she may be able to discover something about the emotional life of the male.

Lisa/Lee

Lisa is a marketing executive from Bristol who has a very particular reason for participating in this programme. The mother of a two-year-old boy, she wants to discover what might be in store for her son as he grows older. She sees herself as a very feminine woman, with a limited understanding of men, so she believes this project might help equip her to deal with the problems and challenges her son will one day have to face.

Fiona/Adam

Fiona is a young single mum who lives in West Yorkshire who works part time as an escort girl. Her work has given her very mixed feelings about men. She sees them as sometimes childlike, at other times as sexually driven animals. She feels this project will help her clarify her feelings about the opposite sex. Fiona has a definite idea about who she would want to become as a man: her ideal type: sophisticated, intelligent and sensitive. However, Fiona's generous curves and soft, pretty face are likely to make her transformation more difficult.

Reshma/Abdul

An undergraduate studying in London, Reshma has always seen herself as a bit of a tomboy. She's keen to see whether she can find out more about her masculine side through the Boy Meets Girl project. At the start of the experiment, Reshma has reservations about what feelings it may unleash. She believes that it could be a voyage of discovery, unlocking emotions that had previously been hidden.
