Lee Peck:
Client focus with a sparkle
Lee is unlikely to have many hang-ups. He probably has a positive view of
himself and is not introspective or prone to being self-critical. Lee's
profile suggests that he will be self-confident, chipper, and eager to take
charge and to be in the limelight. He is likely to have an engaging social
presence and to command attention from others.
Lee is interested in ideas and innovation and he describes himself as very
imaginative. Some of his ideas may even be somewhat eccentric, a quality
that can be extremely useful in a creative environment but which in other
contexts may need to be reigned in to ensure that it doesn't alienate,
confuse or unnerve people. Lee is also someone with a deeply rooted interest
in learning. He is very well read and likely to be knowledgeable on the
subjects that interest him - providing a knowledge based grounding for his
ideas and his imagination.
Entertaining
Lee is a purposeful, outgoing, upbeat, and entertaining kind of a guy. His
unremitting optimism and liveliness may appeal or irritate but then no one
likes everybody all of the time! Not totally self-centred in spite of his
go-getting extraversion, Lee has a sensitive, intuitive side to his nature
that others will respond to. He should have some charismatic qualities and
many will find him warm and approachable. He seems sensitive to other
people's needs and will spend time getting to know them. These are qualities
that would also serve him well in his business relationships. His profile
indicates a very high level of service orientation so that maintaining
client relationships will be a particular strength.
There are indications that Lee will be quite concerned though to please
others and to behave in ways that conform to their expectations. Because he
values appreciation and recognition for his own efforts, Lee is also likely
to motivate his staff in ways that highlight their achievements. However, he
is also a discerning person with definite ideas about "good taste". He
values and respects culture and aesthetics so he is likely to be concerned
about the presentation of work and the design of his work environment. He is
probably fastidious about his own appearance and conscious of the image he
projects.
Unusually for an entrepreneur, Lee doesn't appear to be a huge risk-taker
although impulsivity and spontaneity contribute importantly to his profile,
so he is likely to strike a balance between conventionality and
non-conformity. Lee certainly understands the need for rules and procedures
and can respect them, but perhaps without following them blindly where he
sees no good reason to do so.
Lee and Boss Swap
Lee has many positive 'Boss' qualities, but the question is whether the
extreme circumstances of the Boss Swap scenario will bring out the best or
the worst in him. Will Lee take on board negative criticism or be deflated
by it? Will his ideas seem a bit far out to his surrogate staff? Will his
tendency to enjoy the limelight interfere with his ability to read other
people in this unfamiliar situation? Will the culture of his temporary boss
placement conflict with his liveliness and optimism? Will he seem engaging
or too much like the cat that got the cream?
