Lynx Estate Agents
Q: When was your company founded?
A: I was approached to join Lynx as a partner in 1991 and bought the company outright in 1992.
Q: How many staff do you employ?
A: I employ over 20 staff in three offices and have several teams of builders that are employed in my property development division.
Q: What is your firm's turnover?
A: Between £6 million and £8 million.
Q: How did you get started?
A: I got started at Lynx by taking a risk. I was a top performer, the youngest and most successful manager in a corporate estate agency. I went 'shit or bust' to do it for myself. I haven't looked back since.
Q: How do you sell your products?
A: By working harder and faster
than our competitors. With our unrivalled blend of service and marketing, no-one else can touch us.
Q: What does your job involve on a day-to-day level?
A: I split my time between Lynx and other business interests, so no one day is the same. Oh... I go to the gym at 6.30am every day.
Q: How would you describe your management style?
A: I am open to discussion but reserve the right to have the final say.
Q: What differentiates your company from your competition?
A: We're realistic, we don't over-value properties and we never make promises that we can't keep.
Q: What are the biggest challenges your business faces?
A: Being an estate agent is a competitive business, therefore we have to maintain a high profile through customer service and pushing our brand. Success ensures that we retain and increase our market share. I don't want to get emotional, but we MOVE people.
